Veolia Transport
Veolia Transport
As we take a look at year 2005, Veolia Environnement took the decision to joint all its divisions under the same name, Veolia; the most popular amongst these divisions were later on recognized by the names of Veolia Water, Veolia Enviroenmental Services (Onyx), Veolia Energy (Dalkia) and Veolia Transport (Connex).
As a result, Connext Northern Europe AB had to change its name to Veolia Transport Northern Europe AB as of the 17th of February 2006. Connex Central Europe GmbH also had to indertake a change of name to Veolia Transport Central Europe GmbH as of May 17th 2006.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), during that same year, managed to acquire a total of 35% of the Veolia Transport Central Europe GmbH equity stakes and became a major partner that helped in reinforcing and pushing forward the Veolia Transport develonment potential in Central Europe and in the Eastern Europe.
In 2006 as well, Veolia displayed its 1st major development; the acuisition of a bus company in Serbia marked in fact the 1st professional financial decision of Veolia Transportation, making Veolia a well known brand name in this same country, not to mention that the acquisition of 2 new bus activites in UK (Pullman Coaches Limited, Dunn-Line PLC in the East Midlands) contributed as well in the expansion of Veolia Transport.
