Veolia Transport Rosenheim Rail System Success

Via its German subsidiary Veolia Verkehr, Veolia Transport was lately able to win a major contract in the German City of Bavaria; Veolia will undertake its expertise and engineering in the passenger transportation sector. Veolia Transportation branch in Germany (Verkehr) is expected to generate a revenue of 1 billion euros for Veolia Transport.

The system will include the following lines, previously functionned by Deutsche Bahn:

Munich - Rosenheim – Traunstein – Salzburg (KBS 951)

Munich – Rosenheim – Kufstein (KBS 950)

Rosenheim – Holzkirchen – Munich (rail link to the Mangfall Valley – KBS 958/999.20)

A part of the regional rail network between the cities of Munich and of Holzkirchen was elderly served by Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB) trains for the last decade, reportedly a subsidiary of Veolia Verkehr (Veolia Transportation Germany). The new contract is expected to add an international aspect to Veolia Transport’s business in Germany given the fact that 2 of the new lines are currently serving Austria, Salzburg and Kufstein.

The deal is as well going to expand the brand awareness, strengthening Veolia Transport’s position as the top operator of private passenger transportation services in Germany and the European market.
